Matefu Spring Training school
“superconducting magnets”
April 05 -09, 2009
Le Château CEA Cadarache 13108 St Paul Lez Durance France
In the scope of the Marie Curie training action “Magnet technology for fusion” (MATEFU), CEA Cadarache and FZK jointly organized a Matefu Spring training school. The school aims to educate young professional in the field of applied superconductivity for fusion with emphasis for this school on design, fabrication and operation of superconducting magnets for fusion.
Lecturers: M. Borlein (Babcock Noell), A. Bourquard (Alstom), C-H Choi (ITER), J-L Duchateau (CEA), P. Dauguet (Air liquide), P. Decool (CEA), W Fietz (FZK), S Fink (FZK), P. Lebrun (CERN), N. Mitchell (ITER), H Neumann (FZK), C. Portafaix (CEA), W. Peide (ITER), B. Renard (CEA), P. Reynaud (CEA), L. Serio (ITER), P. Tixador (INP), R. Vallcorba (CEA), R. Wesche (CRPP), K Weiss (FZK).
Venue: The Château de Cadarache is a CEA guest house situated very near CEA Cadarache and ITER site. It is very well adapted for workshops and meetings and it includes a hotel and a restaurant. It can be accessed in about 1 hour by the motorway from the international airport Marseille Provence or the TGV railway station.
The Matefu Spring training school was attended by a total of 18 participants, among them 7 were Matefu trainees.
The scientific programme of the school has been made pay Jean-Luc Duchateau (CEA) and Walter Fietz (FZK). All the orators are warmly thanked. The logistic of the school (registration, accomodation, lodging and transportation) was covered by Simone Bourmaud (CEA).
