Aix en Provence is a rich and lively city of human dimension where the preserved heritage and the city of tomorrow blend perfectly. It is located at about 40km southwest of the site of IRFM and ITER in the heart of the Provence with its picturesque hill villages and sloping vineyards. Aix en Provence is also very close to the Mediterranean; the Marseille Calanques, the Camargue and its herdsmen and the Cote d'Azur, the French Riviera which stretches from Hyères with its famous golden islands (Porquerolles …) to Menton.
